A Book with Color Boxes 1 & 2

Includes printable color tablets

After a few of you asked if skipping Color Boxes 1 & 2 would be okay for budget reasons, I decided to make a printable set for both.

The “Read Aloud Colors” book is here on Etsy.

I really do not want you to skip the Color Boxes 1 & 2 because the exercise develops your child’s sense of visual discernment. It is not meant to teach color names.

My preferences for the Color Boxes:

  1. Make original silk-wrapped tablets (see The Montessori Method on Gutenberg)

  2. Buy color tablets with wooden tabs to hold

  3. Make color tablets with accurate colors by painting pieces of wood. You can also cover them with fabric instead of paint.

  4. Use my printable tablets

  5. Avoid the pure plastic that most manufacturers sell
