This classic poem by Rudyard Kipling is one of the children's favorites,
The children select poems for us to read aloud, often requesting the same favorite one again and again.
Remember not to ask them about the meaning of the poem until they ask about it, lest you inadvertently interrupt their joy in the poem. If you think about it as an individual, not a teacher, it makes perfect sense. Imagine your mother-in-law quizzing you about a poem— you'd probably be put off poetry altogether!
The Kipling society in the UK provides an excellent compilation of his works.
