For everyone teaching in a school, it is important for parents to understand that good hand control comes before writing instruction. Of course, children may write whenever they wish, but we do not introduce writing per se until the requisite fine motor skills are in place.

It is fun to provide brushes and paints for parents during a PTA meeting, too!
