Just as I feared I’d have to make my own swim prep videos for you, I found this excellent family online.
The first step to swimming and water safety is acclimating your baby to the water itself,
I suggest playing a game where your spouse gently pours water on your head as you sit in the bath. As you smile and stretch your hands up to the oncoming water, your spouse can offer the baby a pour, too.
If you yourself cannot yet swim, I highly recommend doing these water acclimation exercises in the tub, too.
Before you move to a pool, check out my post from last season on safe swim suit colors for visibility,
Swimming Safety: Visibility is Key
What color is your child’s swimsuit? Does it have good or bad visibility?
And, if you are an adult who does not (yet) swim, this is a great Tim Ferriss article on how he learned to swim as an adult.
