Your child (or students) can use colored pencils to write in the 1, 10, 100, 1000s in their respective colors: 1 and 1000 (green), 10 is blue, 100 is red

I do like the wooden box with the compartments. The original Nienhuis stamps were made from wood, but now they have shifted to synthetic material for the stamps.
