Nature Journals
Drawing, tracing, leaf and flower pressing, printing, hand-binding, and other creative ideas from your nature walks.
I just saw the most gorgeous nature journal on Angela Hennessy’s Etsy shop,
She sells this treasure of a handmade nature journal at a price that barely covers the paper and copious amounts of work.
We used to keep such a nature journal on our nature shelf in the classroom. Children found much joy and inspiration in seeing the bound journal.
You can also press leaves and flowers onto the pages.
The most important aspect of a nature journal is the nature walks that generate the images. Even if your only walks are in the middle of a city, your child can collect ideas, images, and even photos of things that capture their interest.
Part of me would like to make a beautiful cover for our teaching albums, but I do not know if it would be worth the extra cost. I will get sample covers to share a few possibilities later.
Wishing you an inspiring nature walk!
